Heart 7 Location
- Heart 7 is located at the ulnar end of the transverse crease of the wrist, in the depression on the radial side of the tendon, between the pisiform and the ulna.
Heart 7 Needling
- To needle Heart 7, use a perpendicular insertion to a maximum depth of 0.5 cun.
Heart TCM Theory
Heart 7 is the Shu-Stream point for the Heart channel.
Shu-stream points are where are where the Qi of the channel begins to pour and are located at or near the joints of the ankles and wrists.
Shu-stream points are used to:
- Treat heaviness and/or pain of the joints.
- Treat diseases which come and go such as those due to a retained pathogenic factor.
Heart 7 is also the Yuan source point for the Heart channel.
The Yuan Source points are where Yuan Qi for that organ pools and can be used to balance the organ and the channel.
Heart 7 is also the Earth point for the Heart channel and can be used to treat Damp and Phlegm conditions affecting the Heart.
