Liver 2 Location
- Liver 2 is located on the dorsum of the foot, between the 1st and 2nd toes, 0.5 cun proximal to the margin of the web.
Liver 2 Needling
- To needle Liver 2 use an oblique or transverse insertion to a maximum depth of 0.5 cun.
Liver 2 TCM Theory
Liver 2 is the Ying-Spring point of the Liver channel.
Ying-Spring points are where the Qi of the channel trickles.
Ying-Spring points are used to:
- Clear Heat from the channel and the organ.
- Clear Heat over the entire length of the channel.
Liver 2 is also the Fire point of the Liver channel and can be used to treat Heat and Fire patterns affecting the Liver and the Liver channel.
The main TCM actions of Liver 2 are:
- To clear Liver-Fire in cases of red eyes, dizziness, rage and anger.
- To subdue rising Liver Yang in cases of irritability, headaches and migraines.
- It subdues Liver-Wind in cases of convulsions or strong tremors.
